Sarasin & Partners appoints five new partners
January 3, 2019

Asset manager Sarasin & Partners has announced the appointment of five partners from across the business; Jerry Thomas (Asset Management), Alex Hunter (Asset Management), Tom Vernon (Private Clients), James Hutton (Charities) and Fergus Crawford (CEO of Sarasin & Partners Dublin). It says this highlights the importance of focusing on client service in volatile markets.

Guy Matthews, CEO of Sarasin & Partners commented: "Promoting these five individuals from within the organization is a testament to the firm's investment in talent and deep bench strength. They each bring with them industry experience, outstanding ability, and are acknowledged experts in their fields."

Thomas is Head of Global Equities and also manages the Sarasin Thematic Global Equity funds. He has over 20 years' investment experience, and previously held a position as a UK, European and Global Equity Fund Manager at Allianz Global Investors before joining Sarasin & Partners in 2016.

Hunter joined Sarasin & Partners 11 years ago, and is a longstanding member of the firm's team of Analysts. He primarily works on the Global Equity franchise and is Global Equity Portfolio Manager for the Global Equity Opportunities funds.

Vernon manages a variety of private client and charity portfolios and works closely on a number of the firm's large accounts. He joined Sarasin & Partners in 2006.

Hutton has over 16 years' investment experience and maintains specific responsibility for managing portfolios on behalf of charities as well as UK and international private clients. He is also a member of the firm's Investment Policy Committee and Co-Author of the Sarasin Compendium of Investment.

Crawford set up Sarasin & Partners' Dublin office in 2008, which provides a full range of investment management services to private clients, charities and institutions in Ireland. Prior to Sarasin & Partners, he spent 12 years at ACCBank, part of Rabobank, and held various positions including Head of corporate treasury, Head of investments/product development and Relationship Manager for third-party suppliers.
